Working with a Legal Document Assistant (LDA) is a collaborative process. Services are specially designed for individuals who are representing themselves (In Pro Per), know what they want, and just need the paperwork prepared. LDAs are Bonded & Registered non-attorneys professionals dedicated to serving the public who are seeking self-help support. 


What services are included?
Prepared Legal Corp. is a full-service document preparation boutique. Our service is designed as a comprehensive one-stop solution, managing every aspect of your case from start to finish. With our flat fee service, you'll receive a 30-minute intake meeting, document preparation, copying, assembly of your filings, serving the other party by mail, and court filing. Plus, we'll keep you informed through regular email updates on the progress of your case. 

We offer versatile support tailored to your needs. If you require additional one-on-one assistance, we provide this at an hourly rate of $150 to ensure dedicated support throughout your case. Optional collaboration with other legal professionals, such as mediators and divorce coaches, is also available should your case become more complex.

What are Unbundled Legal Services?
This a versatile solution, allowing you to engage various legal professionals for specific tasks in your case. These services are typically provided on a pay-as-you-go basis. These tasks may include court filing, process serving, deposition officer services, and notary public services, among others.

This alternative to traditional full representation empowers clients to customize their legal assistance, potentially saving costs. By collaborating with professionals like Legal Document Assistants, Process Servers, Court Runners, Notary Publics, Limited-Scope Attorneys, and Mediators, each specializing in different aspects of your lawsuit, you can address your legal needs more efficiently. This approach becomes especially beneficial considering that full-scope attorneys can be financially demanding.

We offer unbundled services tailored to your needs, whether it's limited to specific tasks like, notarizing documents, court filing or serving documents to a local Sacramento Registered Agent.

Will I need an attorney?
Straightforward cases, where parties are in agreement and collaborative, often do not typically require an attorney. Whenever possible, it is always well-considered to consult an attorney before taking any legal action. If your case turns contested or a dispute arises, hiring an attorney might become crucial. Should legal guidance or legal advice become necessary, a referral can provide to an attorney. LDAs can also work with your attorney in tandem to provide unbundled legal services.

This Intake appointment is to discuss case details and preparation packages available for your case plan. We provide a general overview of published factual information that has been drafted or approved by the court or an attorney to assist individuals who are representing themselves. This includes making available legal documents like court instruction packets. 

The fee $50 is for the first half hour and $150 per hour thereafter. Initial $50 consultation fees can be credited towards document preparation services. Schedule a consultation online today and select at time that best works for you.

Payment Options

At Prepared Legal, we believe in transparent pricing to ensure our clients understand the costs associated with our services. Our payment processing fee is straightforward:

Fee Paid at the Appointment:
Fees are paid at the appointment. You have the flexibility to choose between paying by credit card or providing alternative means of payment. We prefer Venmo, Zelle, and AppleCash for their convenience and ease of use.

Payment Options:
We value prompt payments and offer cash discounts to our clients. When you choose to pay with cash, you can enjoy reduced fees. We value prompt payments and offer cash discounts to our clients. When you choose to pay with cash, Venmo, Zelle, AppleCash, or other same-as-cash options, you can enjoy reduced fees. For the convenience of accepting debit/credit card payments, we utilize Square Point-of-Sale service. Please note that there is a 3% service convenience fee associated with card payments. However, clients who opt to pay with cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, or any other same-as-cash options, receive the cash discount and are exempt from this fee.

Payment Installments:
Installment payments are available to ensure access to affordable legal services. There are no interest or fees assessed for installment plans. Please note that all payment plans are subject to approval

Installment Plans:
Installment plans are typically scheduled as the case progresses. For example: In divorce cases where our office prepared the documents throughout the entire process, the installment plan is tailored to match the milestones of your case. The process typically begins with the preparation of the initial documents (Step 1) upon payment of the 1st installment. As your case progresses, subsequent installments are scheduled to coincide with key stages, ensuring a smooth and manageable payment structure. Payment in full is due in advance of drafting the final set of documents e.g. Judgment (Step 4). 

Plan Adjustments:
Payment schedules are according to the client's ability to pay. If more time is needed to pay, the file can be placed on hold until the next scheduled installment can be made.

Our goal to bridge the access to justice gap and minimize the financial barriers associated with legal proceedings while providing clients with the support and flexibility you need throughout the legal process, offering personalized payment options that align with their individual circumstances and the progression of your case.
